Multi Stream Recycling Labels
Two types of recycling exist for the sake of this conversation. Of course there is organic waste recycling but varies greatly from these recycling standards. Firstly we have sorted or multi stream recycling. This type of recycling is sorted in to the different waste streams. Generally there is a different buyer for different materials. Since recycling is market based, each recycling district may have its own buyer for the many different streams that come into the facility. Secondly, unsorted recycling all goes into one bin and is sorted in a recycling processing plant. This latter recycling type is known as single stream recycling. You will see this with large companies or municipalities where sorting machinery does all the sorting mechanically.

Many times collection of recycling, either at a drop-off site or center requires items to be put in designated bins. Those containers get labeled with the name of the waste stream.
